Premier Chapitre

The Beginning of Our Journey
In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, our estate has taken root in Mercurey, a winegrowing village renowned for its exceptional Pinot Noir.
Here, in this emblematic region of the Burgundy vineyards, we have chosen to write our “First Chapter”, cultivating the vine with both passion and precision.

Our Key Dates
From the birth of our project to our very first vintage, discover the milestones that have shaped the story of our estate.

2011 – 2016: Heading for Beaune
With the aim of creating our own estate, we began a distance-learning programme with the Beaune Wine School, while continuing our professional careers.
We obtained the Brevet Professionnel de Responsable d’Exploitation Viticole (Professional Certificate in Vineyard Management) – the first concrete step in our change of life.
These years nurtured our project and strengthened our determination to commit ourselves fully to the vine.

Late 2016: Love at First Sight in Mercurey
During a visit to the Côte Chalonnaise as part of our studies at the Beaune Wine School, we discovered the Mercurey appellation and fell under the spell of an old house overlooking the vines – destined to become our new home.
A few weeks later, together with winegrowers from Mercurey, we applied to purchase two parcels of Pinot Noir, planted in 1964. These vines came with buildings in need of restoration, right in the heart of the village – the site of our future winery.

2017: First Vintage
A year of intense learning. We gradually equipped ourselves as needs arose, discovering viticulture in the field, day after day.
At the same time, we began training at the Institut de la Vigne et du Vin Jules Guyot in Dijon – a demanding balance between the classroom and the rhythm of the vineyard.
From the very start, we were guided and advised by several winegrowers from Mercurey. Their kindness made us feel welcomed and supported from our earliest days.

2018: A Key Year
We completed our studies at the Institut de la Vigne et du Vin Jules Guyot in Dijon – a training programme that strengthened our technical foundations and enriched our understanding of the winemaking profession.
The 2018 vintage, blessed with favourable conditions, allowed us to move forward with confidence and lay the foundations of the estate as it stands today.

2019: The Arrival of Our White Wines
Driven by the desire to produce white wines, we launched a négociant activity to broaden our range. Two Burgundy white cuvées joined our Mercurey reds: a Montagny, from a Chardonnay parcel in Saint-Vallerin, and a Bourgogne Aligoté, from almost century-old vines at the foot of Chassagne-Montrachet.

2021: Our Mercurey Red Goes Organic
Since 2021, our Mercurey red cuvées have been certified organic.
A choice that reflects our way of working the vine: with care, precision… and the desire to respect the land rather than exploit it.
This certification formalises a commitment already deeply rooted in our daily life.

Portrait of the Winegrowers
Éric and Gatienne, wine enthusiasts each pursuing a profession of passion (airline pilot and lawyer), decided to embark on a new venture as retirement approached.
The idea of a new life, shaped by the rhythm of nature, gradually took hold. The trigger? It came from a couple of friends who had just acquired an estate in Bordeaux. There, among the vines and the harvest, Éric and Gatienne discovered the daily life of an estate: the vineyard, the gestures, the outdoor work, the open countryside.
Working the land, following the seasons, creating something with one’s own hands… it all began to make sense. The harvest, the first steps of vinification, the steady rhythm of the cellar – all these experiences confirmed their desire to write a new chapter.
